Privacy Policy
Last updated: [PENDING FIRM REVIEW]
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Rensch & Rensch Law (“Rensch & Rensch,” “the firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.renschandrensch.com or contact us through this website. Our principal office is at 7602 Pacific St. Ste 300, Omaha, NE, 68114.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. If you submit the contact form, request a consultation, or email us, we collect the name, email address, telephone number, and message details you supply. You control what you share — provide only what is needed for us to evaluate whether we can help.
Information collected automatically. Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect standard log information: IP address (truncated by Google before storage), device and browser type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not identify you individually to the firm.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether our firm can assist with your matter.
- To communicate with you about your potential case or an existing matter.
- To improve the website and understand which content is useful to visitors.
- To comply with our legal, ethical, and regulatory obligations as a law firm.
4. No attorney-client relationship by contact form
Submitting the contact form or sending us an email does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only by a signed engagement agreement. Until that occurs, we cannot keep your information confidential in the way protected by the attorney-client privilege, and we may not be able to represent you (for example, if we already represent an opposing party). Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the website before we confirm we can accept your matter.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- Inside the firm — with attorneys and support staff who need it to evaluate or handle your matter.
- Service providers under contract — the email delivery provider that transports contact-form submissions; our website hosting provider (Cloudflare); and Google Analytics (for aggregated website analytics). These providers are bound to use information only to provide the service.
- When required by law — if compelled by court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or where disclosure is permitted or required by the applicable rules of professional conduct.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage in aggregate. No advertising or remarketing cookies are set. You can disable analytics collection by adjusting your browser privacy settings or using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
7. How long we keep information
If we do not take on your matter, we retain your contact-form submission only as long as needed to document the conflict check and decline, generally not longer than two years. If we represent you, your file is retained in accordance with the firm's file-retention policy and applicable Nebraska State Bar guidance — typically at least seven years after the matter closes, with longer retention for matters involving minors or structured settlements.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. To exercise a right, contact us at the address below or call 402.498.4400. We may verify your identity before responding, and certain records may be exempt where retention is required by ethical rules, court order, or applicable law.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. EU/UK residents may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability. In both cases the firm does not sell personal information.
9. How we protect information
The website is served over HTTPS. Contact-form submissions are transmitted to firm staff over encrypted channels. We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a law firm. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This website is directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
